Fun times---squatty potties, riding in the Subway, being in an area where no one spoke any English! Oh and Dunkin' Donuts seems to be very popular in Seoul!
We had time to ride the bus to an area where we got on the subway and then were told by a very helpful Korean gal where to go for the "good shopping"! Oh did I mention that we arrived in Seoul at 5 a.m. local time? We still were able to get to some good shopping areas by around 7 a.m. and they were open!
That guy was hilarious! I told him he should be on TV, he was just SO funny!
We didn't buy anything except for a Korean doll for Cara, which was only about $6 USD. Then we found a "hole in the wall" Korean restaurant to eat lunch and just prayed we wouldn't get sick later! (we didn't!) Oh, and in the photo below, it's not a worm Cara is eating---it's just a noodle that looked like a worm!
Sights, smells, sounds of Seoul:
Then we got to visit a big palace, but didn't have time to go all the way inside because we needed to get back to the airport! But we were so excited to be able to take lots of pictures outside the palace!
I wish we had more time to explore, but at least we got to see as many things as we did during a layover!
We made it back to the airport with plenty of time to spare!
Next stop----Beijing! Yes, we are getting a little slap happy!
